The Rev. Nathan C. Brown grew up in Lebanon, Indiana where he attended Central Christian Church. Nathan began to experience a call to ministry through his involvement at CCC and with church camp in the Indiana Region.

Nathan went on to attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. During his time at TCU, Nathan’s call to ministry strengthened. Subsequently, he declared a major in religious studies and earned a B.A. in Religion in 2002.

Following undergraduate studies, Nathan matriculated to Nashville to do his Masters of Divinity at Vanderbilt Divinity School. He graduated with his M.Div and was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in May of 2005.  Currently, Nathan is working on his Doctorate of Ministry in Homiletics at Sewanee’s School of Theology.

Nathan has served different congregations in a variety of settings. He provided pulpit supply at Roaring Spring Christian Church in Herndon, Kentucky. He served as a summer intern at First Christian Church in Bloomington, Indiana. Nathan also served two years as a Ministerial Intern at Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville.

Upon graduation from Divinity School, Rev. Brown was called to serve as the Pastor of West Side Christian Church in Portsmouth, Virginia. Nathan and his family spent five years in Virginia before he was called to First Christian Church in March of 2010.

Nathan enjoys playing golf, reading, and spending time with his family.  He has a wife, Marion, who is an ordained United Methodist Minister.  They have a son, Harrison, and a daughter, Clara.
